Holy cow! I had forgotten that was in Vegas!

I oh-so-bad want to go to Vegas this year. I've been practically begging my wife to sit down and look for a date that works for both our jobs and to see if one of our parents will take our kids for a few days while we go.

Ten years ago she got the wedding she wanted, we never got a honeymoon, and I've said ever since then that in 2006 we are going to Las Vegas.

Now I have one more reason to go! Especially since I really don't want to gamble anyway. I think I'm going to look for some cheap airfares. It's too far to drive, and I can't stand to be in a car for long periods of time.

ahhhh... now if only we had known when we went to Vegas... maybe we wouldn't have gotten bored and split a day early!

You found Vegas boring? I've been worried about that. Some people tell us we will hate it, others say there are lots of things to do, many of which cost almost no money. I'm all about "almost no money", that pretty much describes my bank account!

"Many things to do for almost no money" depends on what interests you. I live in Vegas but don't venture down to the strip much (don't drink or gamble being Mormon). There are indeed free things- but they're to lure you in to spend your money. We have some beautiful mountains ect if you like that sort of stuff (which we do). Freemont street is cool (and free) and there are other things. Anyway, what are you interested in and I can give you some ideas.

Well, I think we showed up in vegas (pre-kids) on a friday night. We did some shopping, lots of looking, etc. We're not big gamblers, so after walking around and looking at the strip and such we realized that besides strip joints and gambling there's not much else on the strip. We had one more night (Sunday to Monday) and instead of getting up, checking out and puttering around for a couple hours on monday morning we left sunday evening.

I don't regret going at all. I hadn't really been there before though so I didn't quite know what to expect. I think if you do a little research and find some places to go beforehand it would be better. We just assumed that the strip had anything and everything. it has a lot, but certainly if I were to go back there would be a number of places I'd go besides the strip.

Knowing me, I probably missed my computer too. =)
