Did you see the way the qbert screen refreshed, (side to side) trippy.
That's probably because it has a vertical monitor in it. I'm not sure if that's the case for an original Q-Bert, but it could be. For example, Raiden, 1942, etc all have a vertical screen to get a better aspect ratio for the game.
