Saddest part...

Steve Irwin's death was more to me than just a sad story.

Check it out at Pinball News.

A company other than stern finally starts making a pinball machine and look what happens. Maybe pinabll is fated to die or something...

I dunno, the recent events might actually make the game sell better. Earning his widow and children some extra cash. (not that they should need it, but you never know) Or they could put the money into wilderness conservation, which would of made Steve happy.

That's too bad.

And I didn't know that Wayne had the rights to the Bally name.

Sushi - you didn't read the article did you? The game is on indefinite hold since he died.

Nobody - Yeah, it's too bad in some ways. I hear he's shut down some 3rd party parts distributors who had bally/williams parts you couldn't get anywhere else, even from him. But at least he's doing something with it instead of sitting on it.

Maybe someday they'll remake Twilight Zone or Addam's family. Meh, probably not -- too many rights issues I'd bet.

They are on the verge of remaking medieval madness though. Too bad it's like $6000 preorder. =)

I don't generally hear nice things about Wayne. I don't know enough about him to form my own opinion.

I know I have had some difficulty obtaining even really common WMS parts of late.

The best part about my old Gottlieb Playball machine is that Steve Young has most of the non-game specific parts for it. Things like pop bumper caps and aprons, flipper parts, chimes, etc are readily available at low prices. If only I could find a backglass for it that isn't flaking.
